Aliera is an applied AI and engineering firm built on a simple conviction: technology only matters when it works in the real world. For over a decade we've taken systems from research bench to live operation — for governments, utilities, enterprises, and startups across three continents.
Who We Are
Aliera Ltd was registered in London in December 2014, but its engineering lineage runs deeper — through automotive development programmes for Volvo, Mercedes, and Bentley; EU-funded electric vehicle research; and commercially sold products engineered from scratch.
Today that discipline is applied to AI: enterprise GenAI and multi-agent systems, healthcare platforms, energy optimisation, embedded edge intelligence, and national-scale policy programmes. We operate across six practice verticals with an international ecosystem of universities, research institutes, and industry partners — and we stay through deployment and the operations that follow.
Consolidation of all IP, R&D, and technology programmes by Dr Aazir Khan across previous ventures — integrating commercial and post-doctoral projects across the US, Italy, Ireland, UK, and Pakistan.
Launched in England as a research, design, and technology platform following €3.2M EU Future Vehicle funding. Achieved £80K annual revenue with clients including Bentley, Mercedes, Volvo, and Centurion Electronics.
Taha joins Aliera. $200K grant for green sustainable technology — edge systems and AI overlays, EV technology, networked air-quality monitors — developed with AI optimisation, plus €70K revenue in AI technical writing. AI-EV Expo 2023.
Taha officially becomes Aliera Director. $180K in grants for developing the Modular Grid Optimisation Platform. Proof-of-concept and smaller AI agentic and optimisation projects across textile, e-commerce, telecom, sports science, vision systems, HR, and healthcare.
$120K grant, 2026. Aliera now operates across six practice verticals — delivering through AWRTD managed engineering and its own platforms, of which MIRAI is one — a single decision-intelligence ecosystem.
Leadership
Aazir has spent 30 years taking vehicles and intelligent systems from concept to production across the UK, USA, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Spain, and Pakistan. His commercial record spans the Mercedes EQC powertrain integration, Volvo XC90 mechatronic systems, and the Bentley Mulliner Flying Spur — alongside Aliera's own patented hybrid and electric vehicle platforms, the HADES hypercar concept, and Pakistan's first indigenous air-quality monitoring network.
He directs the Institute of Energy, Climate & Equity at the University of Lahore, founded PakEVO — Pakistan's 40-organisation EV oversight community — and authored the National Energy Vehicle Roadmap presented to Pakistan's Minister of Energy. Featured in Forbes for leading the charge to electrification in Pakistan, he has personally authored and won research programmes exceeding €15M across EU, Irish, and Pakistani frameworks.
Taha builds LLM, agentic, and perception systems that make it out of the lab — into production, on cloud and on device. He leads Aliera's AI and GenAI engineering: multi-agent platforms, retrieval systems, edge AI on NVIDIA Jetson, and the algorithms behind Aliera's EV retrofit and charging-optimisation programmes, work selected for the Asian Development Bank's Asia Clean Energy Forum 2025.
His research spans grant-funded healthcare robotics with the University of California, Irvine and the University of Notre Dame — LLM-driven dementia-care companions fusing dialogue, vision, and camera-based vitals — with protocols published in JMIR Research Protocols. He built the live air-quality analytics dashboard behind LAACA, Lahore's academic clean-air alliance.
